Benjamin Daly vs. Last Japan

Here another preview to get you hyped!! These boys are going to smash the place!! :)
Benjamin Daly and LAST Japan are due to bring their blend
of electro records and insane loops to our Never Grow Up party.
This is a first for Benjamin Daly and Last Japan mixing out together!!

We catch up with the lads and see what they are all about!

Can you introduce yourselves please, who the devil are you guys..... (whatever you want to say)? :-)

B: Hi im Benjamin Daly.
LJ: Im Last Japan.

So give us a brief bit of History, why / how did you both get into the game?

B: I started DJin as a kid and wanted to play out my own tunes. So i started writing and producing.
LJ. When i started Uni, i made shit, electro music with every preset know to logic! then i got really interested in how my idols like the Bloody Beetroots and Justice got their crazy sounds and just took it from there. Producing and now Djing.

When did the idea first come about to combine forces for the set?

BD: I think it started as pissed talk but we're actually doing it now! Quite funny really, we share the same interests in music which inspired us a a lot.

You guys producing together too?

BD: We've been producing a few tracks together, that are still in the pipeline, but we will be getting some tunes out in a couple of months under a super secretive alias.

What's in the pipeline for you guys at the moment (separately - projects)

LJ: I've just finished my E.P which will be released on a new label Tunnel Vision in April, u can listen to previews of the tracks on my myspace.
Now im doing as many sets as i can this year.

What is a Benjamin Daly and Last Japan set going to entail?

BD: The sets gonna be a huge mash-up of filthy electro and house.

How does it evolve on the night? Rigid set list?.... Just go with it?

BD: This is the first time were ever played together so who knows. We don't like to plan our sets, its more fun that way.

What tunes aren't leaving our box at the moment?

BD: Tunes that haven't left the box are 'Bust A Move' - Young MC (Don Rimini Remix), 'Baggy Bottom Boys' - Jokers, ' Oi' - Last Japan & 'The Reward Is Cheese' - Deadmau5, and most of the Bloody Beetroots catalogue ha.

You feeling our cross genre vibe; e.g. broken beat and your 4tothefloor all under one roof?

LJ: I love the cross genre vibe. It makes a night so much more interesting.

What nights you guys really rating at the moment?

LJ: Friday nights and Saturday for clubbing. Sundays for sleeping and we both collectively hate Mondays. haha!
We really love going to drum and bass nights at Matter to see the Boss Andy C.

Are you looking forward to rocking our 'Never Grow Up' crowd..... here is your chance to get them excited!!!

LJ: Yes were really excited about it hopefully we can get the crowd all fired up!
BJ: Yer Boy!!

The boys have kindly put together a Mix for the door.

HAPPY LISTENING :-)
